Associate Developer

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable programming fluency (May request source code and/or technical interview.)
  • Exposure to and comfort with the command line in both Windows and Linux/Unix environments.
  • Associate degree, certificate, or higher preferred, but equivalent years of production experience also considered.
  • Fluency in at least one of C#, Python, Javascript, C++, or Java
  • Self-starter who can grasp difficult concepts and keep momentum while working through a prioritized backlog of tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to context switch, prioritize among multiple concurrent demands, and succeed in an agile environment.
  • Strong written communication ability and comfort with technical software documentation
  • Willingness to recognize and accept limitations, both in skills and in environment, and drive to transcend them.
  • Ability to respond to constructive feedback.
  • Good teamwork and problem-solving skills. 
  • Willingness to design and conduct tests (including unit tests) and to summarize results and provide feedback to the team.
  • Ability to interact and communicate successfully with both specialists and generalists. This means you have got to have skills, but you also have got to be able to discuss them in a cooperative way with those whose skills are very different than your own. 
  • Ability to grow with the job as skills and priorities evolve.

Beneficial Additional Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with HTML, SQL, Regular Expressions, JSON, XML, and/or CSV
  • Experience with source control (git and VSTS are preferred, but others are also helpful)
  • Interest in theoretical or applied linguistic, mathematical, or computer science concepts
