Network Engineer

Required Technical Knowledge and Professional Experience:

  • Ability to work independently in an IT Setting
  • Create, manage, and maintain user accounts in Active Directory Services and Group Policies for network access, support, and usage for all employees within the organization
  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot Check Point firewalls at headquarters and multiple remote sites
  • Troubleshoot network related configurations and wiring, IP conflicts, and other networking issues
  • Build, configure, and maintain HP ProCurve edge switches for use on multiple subnets
  • Continuously update and configure Check Point VPN client for both Windows and Mac users
  • Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of HP servers and domain controllers
  • Maintain and patch McAfee antivirus platform for company wide use to over 400 workstation and 200 plus Microsoft Windows servers (Of course replaced by Check Point)
  • Manage Palo Alto firewall for antivirus, applications, and threat updates in an HA environment
  • Organizational administrator for SharePoint Server and other organizational software platforms
  • Configure and troubleshoot network printers and print servers for organizational employees
  • Update and close end user helpdesk ticket system assigned through Spiceworks
  • Respond to after-hour technical network / IT response issues during a weekly on-call rotation
  • Experience in configuration and implementation of Cisco Wireless Access Points preferred
  • Understanding of Vlan Tagging, DNS, DHCP, STP, NAT, ARP preferred

Education & Experience Requirements

  • 5 or more years of experience in an IT Setting
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Relevant certifications and/or education preferred
