Responsibilities:
Measurement Incorporated seeks an ELA Lead Content Specialist to lead, create and implement plans to develop and field test high-quality English Language Arts items aligned to client standards and specifications. Responsibilities for an ELA Lead Content Specialist include, but is not limited to, the following:
Develop and review ELA items and stimuli including multiple-choice, technology-enhanced, and constructed response items, using multiple platforms and item banking systems.
Ensure the use of best practices in ELA development, including reviewing materials for accessibility and bias/sensitivity concerns.
Prepare approved items for inclusion in field tests and collaborate with psychometricians and editors to construct test forms.
Collaborate with client staff to facilitate ongoing client review of test development and build and maintain positive relationships with clients.
Train and provide feedback to ELA content staff including content specialists and item writers.
Coordinate and monitor ELA staffing across projects.
Develop and maintain internal schedules and work plans and track deliverables to complete all project work on schedule with the highest professional levels of quality and accuracy.
Develop item specifications, process documentation, and other materials to facilitate test development.
Contribute subject matter expertise as needed for internal and external clients.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, English Language Arts, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
Minimum of three years’ experience in assessment development
Classroom teaching or assessment experience in elementary grades preferred
Experience working in Microsoft Office and online item development or item banking systems
Ability to travel 5 to 10 days each year if needed to meet with clients and review committees
Mastery of the Common Core or other State Standards for English Language Arts
