Vice President of Technology Operations (Internal Only)

Salary Range: $160K – 180K annually

Position Summary

Measurement Incorporated is seeking a Vice President of Technology Operations to own the strategy, reliability, security, and operational performance of the company’s full technology infrastructure. This role is accountable for corporate IT, hybrid identity, cloud platforms, datacenter operations, and technology service delivery across the organization.

The VP of Technology Operations will lead modernization efforts across a diverse ecosystem including an on-premises Windows-based datacenter, Microsoft 365 / Entra ID, Azure cloud environments, and the consolidation of legacy infrastructure. This leader will be responsible for building and managing a high-performing operations organization that supports both internal corporate users and production systems handling sensitive data.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Operations Leadership

  • Own end-to-end technology operations across infrastructure, cloud, identity, corporate IT, and production hosting platforms.

  • Establish operational standards for uptime, incident response, change management, patching, monitoring, and disaster recovery.

  • Serve as the executive escalation point for major outages and business-critical technology incidents.

  • Align operational priorities with executive leadership, business objectives, and contractual obligations.

Infrastructure & Platform Ownership

  • Own cloud platform operations and governance across Azure environments supporting development, QA, and production systems.

  • Oversee on-premises datacenter operations including Windows Server platforms, virtualization, storage, backups, and core network services.

  • Drive consolidation of legacy or unmanaged environments into standardized, supported platforms.

Identity, Microsoft 365, and Corporate IT

  • Own Microsoft 365 and Entra ID strategy, including hybrid identity, access governance, and security controls.

  • Oversee corporate IT operations including endpoint management, user support services, and campus-based infrastructure.

  • Ensure consistent onboarding/offboarding, access controls, and policy enforcement across the enterprise.

Security, Compliance, and Risk Management

  • Ensure infrastructure and operations align with security best practices and required compliance obligations.

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support audits, security reviews, and vendor due diligence.

  • Own vulnerability management, patch compliance, incident response coordination, and disaster recovery planning.

  • Own infrastructure‑level compliance controls (e.g., SOC 2) and ensure audit readiness of the infrastructure compliance efforts through effective cross‑functional coordination.

Program Execution & Modernization

  • Lead delivery of major infrastructure modernization initiatives, including the migration of production systems from on-premises to Azure.

  • Reduce technical debt and improve long-term reliability through standardization, automation, and operational maturity.

  • Develop multi-year infrastructure and operations roadmaps aligned with business growth and risk reduction.

  • Drive adoption of infrastructure as code (IaC), automation, and self‑service operational models to reduce manual effort, improve deployment consistency, and accelerate recovery and change velocity.

  • Evaluate, govern, and operationalize AI capabilities to ensure they deliver measurable improvements while aligning with security, compliance, and data‑handling requirements.

People, Budget, and Vendor Leadership

  • Build and manage a scalable Technology Operations organization across infrastructure, cloud engineering, corporate IT, and security operations.

  • Own operational budgets including tooling, infrastructure services, licensing, and vendor relationships.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in technology operations, infrastructure, cloud operations, or IT leadership roles.

  • Proven experience leading hybrid environments (on-premises + cloud) in a production setting.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft ecosystem technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra ID).

  • Strong cloud platform experience, preferably Microsoft Azure.

  • Demonstrated experience driving operational maturity: incident response, change control, monitoring, patching, and disaster recovery.

  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and leading high-impact technology programs.

  • Strong executive communication skills and ability to translate technical risk into business impact.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in environments handling sensitive personal data and supporting audit requirements.

  • Experience leading cloud migrations and infrastructure modernization programs.

  • Experience consolidating or migrating workloads from physical infrastructure to the cloud.

  • Familiarity with security frameworks such as SOC2 and operational security best practices.
