The Scoring Operations Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of projects by managing the day-to-day operational aspects across the organization’s project portfolio. This role focuses on hands-on project setup, resource management, quality control, and process optimization. The Scoring Operations Manager collaborates closely with the Portfolio Manager to address operational challenges and implement improvements that enhance project efficiency and consistency.
Operational Responsibilities (80%)
Project Setup and Resource Management
Conduct project setup activities, including task planning, resource allocation, budget tracking, and initial scheduling.
Actively manage resources across projects, ensuring that resource utilization is efficient and aligned with project needs.
Detailed Monitoring and Reporting
Monitor project execution in detail, tracking progress against schedules, budgets, and quality metrics.
Prepare comprehensive operational reports that cover project status, quality control findings, and resource utilization.
Quality Control and Compliance
Implement and oversee quality assurance procedures to ensure that project deliverables meet organizational and client standards.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, addressing non-compliance issues directly.
Issue Resolution and Risk Mitigation
Resolve day-to-day operational issues by implementing corrective actions and working with project teams to maintain progress.
Identify potential operational risks early, working collaboratively with the Portfolio Manager to implement mitigation strategies.
Process Improvement and Tool Management
Drive improvements in operational workflows, tools, and practices to enhance project execution and consistency.
Manage project management tools and systems, ensuring they are effectively used to support project operations.
Management Responsibilities (20%)
Operational Task Delegation and Team Support
Assign specific operational tasks to team members, providing guidance and support to ensure successful completion.
Work closely with the Portfolio Manager to integrate operational tasks with overall project plans.
Collaboration with the Portfolio Manager
Support the Portfolio Manager by providing detailed insights on operational performance, resource utilization, and quality control.
Ensure that operational reports and findings are incorporated into high-level project updates.
Training and Mentorship
Train team members on operational best practices, tool usage, and process adherence.
Mentor staff involved in operational tasks to promote continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in operations management or project management.
Experience in the education sector or with assessment/scoring services is a plus.
Skills:
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in project management tools and software.
Analytical skills to interpret scoring metrics and implement improvements.
Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
Familiarity with compliance standards in educational assessments.
Experience with continuous improvement methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma.
